An Unshakable Journey: Abiding in Faith

“Without God, I am nothing. Because my identity is in Him alone.” This is based off of John 15:5-7, where it talks about it. Abide can be interchanged with the word remain. In results of abiding in Him. We create a solid, unshakeable foundation of who we are in Christ. An Unshakable Journey.

One of the questions that has come up for me in my faith journey is. “What is stopping me from going “All in” in my identity in Christ. I thought this would be the only question that would come up. I was wrong. The more I pressed into this. The more questions come up, that got me thinking.  Why is it hard to completely remain in Him? Could it be because we have a hard time surrendering our plans, our desires? Could it  be that we are so caught up in the “hustle” culture, that we don’t see what God is doing around us? Or that we think that we truly don’t need his assistance and think we can do it ourselves. What is truly stopping you from fully abiding in Him?

Personally, this has been a bit of a challenge for me. Mainly because sometimes it is hard to trust what God will do in certain moments. But, that shouldn’t be the case.  Our God is a good, good Father. He cares, loves and wants the best for us as his children. He able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us (Eph.3:20).

Perhaps He is shaping you to fix your eyes on things above, so you can be unshakeable, and unbothered by what life is throwing at you. Or He challenging you to step out of our comfort zone. When God calls us to step out of our comfort zone, He is not calling us to be comfortable in the situation. He is calling us to be comfortable in Him in spite of the situation.

I was reading a Devotional from the artist Anike. She is an amazing Christian rapper. She says the following that got me pondering.

  • “When we finally take a moment to step back, pause, and really reflect on who God has called us to be. It leaves us with a decision to make. Am I really ready to let go of the firm grasp I have on my life to ultimately follow the path that God has given me? Am I willing to trust that He wants the best for me and is my provider? Am I willing to believe and have faith?”
  • The decision to be who God ha called us to be requires us to have faith and take action.  It may be scary at first. However, we can have peace knowing that when we seek God, He will not fail us.
    • Prov.3:5-6, Romans 8:28

So here is my challenge for you, “What does abiding in Him looks like you?” that’s it. That is the challenge.
