Hello, my awesome readers. Welcome back to my blog! It has been a while since I have written one of these and since it is the beginning of a new school year. I thought why not sit down and write something. My goal in this one is to tell you a bit about my summer and what God has been teaching throughout. So, here goes nothing.
This past summer has been one for the books! After college was done for the summer, I was able to head home for a while and be with my family, which was very much needed after a year at bible college. This past school year, before summer break did have its challenges, but overall, it was a good school year. It caused to tackle these challenges head-on, while letting God be able to help me through it as well.
But this summer was different than the past two summers. However, I had the chance to experience a lot of new things, which made me quite nervous, to be honest. I worked at a cool, awesome bible camp for 10 weeks. This is my second time going to a new camp not being associated with it at all. While being there, I was able to enhance my leadership skills, learn how to operate a Zip-line system and was able to dig deeper into God’s word and grow in my relationship more in Him. Even though this summer was challenging I was able to overcome some struggles and was able to come out stronger than before.
We all know that God works in mysterious ways. These past couple of months God has taught a couple of things that are very profound. One of the things He has taught me was to fully let Him have control of my summer. Now for me, giving up control is kind of hard to do, but this summer I did actually give my summer plans over to Him and I got to see Him work so much through not only the staff at the camp I was at but also through the campers as well. Another thing, He reminded me of is that my identity is in Him alone. During I believe week 8 possibly, we did a reflection exercise for our counselor meeting and we wrote a letter to ourselves. But for me it was more like God was speaking to me directly as I wrote this letter. He I believe said this, “Your identity is found in Christ alone, not in what the things of this world has to offer. Your identity is not found in your anxiety. You are more than your anxiety. You are free from it because you have Christ by your side, walking, and leading you to where He wants you to be.” When I wrote that, it made me get a little bit emotional because it is true. As a Christian, being reminded of who my identity is in is a good thing.
Lastly, I will leave you guys with a verse that God put on my heart that was kind of my verse for the summer and it was: Psalms 86:11 TPT says “Teach me more about you, how you work, and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name.” Allow God this upcoming season to show you something new about who He is and see what will happen from there.

What a beautiful reflection, my friend. You are so strong. I’m so thankful that I got to journey alongside you at camp, and still get to now. God is good ALL the time, and ALL the time God is good. (:
